Volunteers with Debt Wanted

What it means to be a volunteer:
So, you have some student debt you want to get rid of right? Well, who doesn't! I am 29 years old and I am still paying off student debt after having graduated seven years ago. I can not wait until the day comes when I have all of my debt from college paid off. Charity for Debt was created to help the millions of current students and alumni that are in the same situation by helping them pay off their student debt while providing a service to the local community.
The problem with paying debt off from a salaried paycheck is that your paycheck is taxed and I am sure you use your paycheck for many other things like food, fun, saving for a home, etc. But, if you had the opportunity to spend a few hours a week helping your community and get your debt paid off (tax free) directly, it is a win win situation.
We are only taking the best volunteers at first. That means you have real debt, have a great interest in helping out in your community (DC, Dallas, or Okc right now), and have a good track record of community service in the past.
What do we pay:
The first thought was to pay $15 per hour for your volunteer time. Since we are just starting and we want the highest quality volunteers we can find, we have committed to increasing that amount to $20 per hour for the first volunteer pilot group, up to 40 hours per volunteer. That is $800 off your debt, directly for about 4 to 6 weeks worth of volunteering! The amount of time you are required to volunteer each week will be determined on an individual basis and will range from the minimum of 6 hours per week to the maximum of 10 hours per week. If you work full time, we hope to have many activities available on the weekends and after standard business hours.
Can you choose your volunteer activities:
We hope to be working with several non profits, so there should be many different and rewarding activities to choose from. You can specify your top three requests once you have been selected as a paid volunteer and then we will place you into one of those three activities. We aim to have exciting, fun, and rewarding volunteer activities available, but sometimes the community needs hard, dirty work as well, so please understand that your job will be to improve the community not just to do something enjoyable.
Reasons to volunteer:
- Get your debt paid off directly
- Help out a non profit in your community
- Your time will be compensated and is tax free
- You can connect with your sponsor
- The world will be a better place
- It would make your mom proud!
How to sign up:
Anyone can apply and we will alert you when the project is available in a city near you. The first volunteers we select will also get paid $5 more than what we normally would pay. So, if you are interested, simply
click here to submit your application. Also, don't forget to join our
Facebook Group and tell others to do the same!

- I think this is a brilliant idea. Most college students or recent graduates want to be involved with charities. However, without making sacrifices in ones personal life or creative pursuits, it is nearly impossible to balance a job and volunteer work. This project is going to benefit a lot of people. Laura S.
